Theatre Beyond the Stage: NSD Summer T.I.E. Workshop at GGHS

From 22 May to 21 June 2026, Gurugram Global Heights School became a space for imagination, expression and discovery as it hosted the Summer Theatre-in-Education (T.I.E.) Workshop by Sanskaar Rang Toli, National School of Drama, New Delhi. GGHS was among the selected centres for this month-long theatre initiative for children aged 8 to 16 years.

Designed around a play-way approach, the workshop used theatre as a powerful medium to help young participants understand themselves, connect with those around them and engage more thoughtfully with their surroundings. The programme placed equal emphasis on creative expression and social integration, allowing learning to unfold through participation, interaction and performance.

Conducted through regular morning sessions at the school, the workshop offered children an immersive environment where they could explore ideas, work collectively and build confidence through the language of theatre. The programme also included dedicated parent interactions and culminated after weeks of sustained theatrical engagement.

More than an introduction to the stage, the NSD Summer T.I.E. Workshop reflected the larger possibilities of theatre in education, encouraging communication, sensitivity, imagination and collaboration in ways that extend far beyond performance.

For GGHS learners, it was an opportunity to experience the arts not simply as something to watch, but as something to live, explore and learn through.
